Sabtu, 14 Mei 2016 Mahasiswa STIEBBANK Yogyakarta melakukan kunjungan ke Koperasi Mahasiswa (KOPMA) Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). Kunjungan tersebut bertujuan melakukan studi banding terhadap kegiatan dan tata cara mengelola Koperasi Mahasiswa yang ada di UNY sebagai bahan pembelajaran dan tolok ukur Mahasisiwa STIEBBANK Yogyakarta yang akan mendirikan koperasi di Kampus STIEBBANK Yogyakarta. Mahasiswa melakukan sharing antar pengurus sesuai dengan divisinya masing-masing tentang apa yang harus dilakukan dan program-program apa yang biasanya ada dalam masing-masing divisi tersebut.

Keinginan untuk membuat Koperasi Mahasiswa sebenarnya sudah tercetus sejak tahun lalu tetapi belum terlaksana juga sampai sekarang. Maka dari itu tahun ini memulai pembentukan KOPMA yang sudah terbentuk kepengurusan sementara KOPMA STIEBBANK Yogyakarta yang terdiri dari 8 mahasiswa sesuai divisi masing-masing.
Koperasi Mahasiswa mempunyai peran penting bagi mahasiswa, baik bagi anggota maupun non anggota. Manfaat koperasi bagi non anggota antara lain mempermudah mahasiswa mendapatkan barang-barang yang diperlukan selama berada di lingkungan kampus, tanpa perlu jauh-jauh keluar kampus karena barang yang mereka butuhkan telah tersedia di koperasi. KOPMA juga berperan penting dalam melatih mahasiswa mengembangkan jiwa wirausaha. Untuk itu dibutuhkan KOPMA di kampus STIEBBANK Yogyakarta agar membentuk lingkungan kampus yang lebih nyaman bagi mahasiswa. (Nda)
